47th training course, 20/21 October in Weinfelden: Modern timber construction with solid wood – from detached houses to high-rise buildings
The 47th training course in Weinfelden, organised for the third time by Swiss Wood Innovation Network S-WIN, is dedicated to timber-frame construction with glulam. Since its market introduction 15 years ago, the high-performance product for load-bearing construction parts has steadily grown in importance and has established itself in many new markets.
The reasons for this success go beyond the general growth in timber construction because glulam in itself has created new possibilities in timber construction: thanks to large-scale load-bearing construction elements made from solid wood, timber is now used to make buildings that were previously beyond the reach of timber construction.
The course gives developers and project managers an overview of glulam as a product and the fascinating timber constructions achieved with glulam. In addition to presentations by experts from Switzerland and abroad, several glulam manufacturers will present their products in Weinfelden.
