Under the guidance of Dr Jochen Breschan and Andreas Hill, participants will learn how to systematically combine control samples and remote sensing data. They will become familiar with the general procedure of determining statistical relationships between control samples and remote sensing data, apply this method using sample forestry parameters and, in a subsequent plenary session, discuss the possible uses and limitations of this approach.
This methods seminar is aimed at a wide audience, including experts in forestry planning and management, cantonal forestry services, engineering offices, operations managers and those interested in forestry planning. To ensure the best possible workflow, participants will be asked how familiar they are with Arc-GIS and the statistical software R prior to the course.
